~ High School Grades 9 & 10 ~
During these years of Faith Formation, students prepare for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. It is important, then, for each student to have a clear understanding of their Catholic faith, as well as strenghten their ability to apply their faith to the experiences they will face throughout life.
St. Anne's Faith Formation Program utilizes two curricula to meet these needs:
- The Catholic Faith Handbook for Youth by St. Mary's Press
- Chosen: Your Journey to Confirmation by Ascension Press
Grade 9 students use the "Chosen" curriculum as a way to apply the knowledge of their faith that they have acquired from previous years.
Grade 10 students use the Catholic Faith Handbook from St. Mary's Press to further fortify their understanding of their faith.
To continue the Faith Formation process and build ongoing faith, the Senior High Student uses the Catholic Faith Handbook for Youth from St. Mary’s Press.
This is an understandable, relatable and down-to-earth guide to all things Catholic. This book is an eye-opener and a page-turner, whether you are brushing up on specific Catholic terms and concepts or learning them for the first time. The High School curriculum follows the Catholic Connections curriculum which was introduced in the middle school.
As in the Catholic Connections, there are six distinct sidebars used in the Catholic Faith Handbook for Youth (Did You Know?, Live It!, Pray It!, Catholic Wisdom, Saintly Profiles, and Scripture Connection) in every chapter that provide additional information that deepens and applies the primary chapter content.
Confirmation is often celebrated in the spring of the year, typically after Easter. The Church of St. Anne seeks to prepare the young person with sound Catholic doctrine and the development of their relationship with Jesus Christ. The Confirmation preparation is a two year process typically beginning in 9th Grade with the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation in Year Two…
Students at any High School grade level may begin the process of the two year program.
