Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion

Eucharistic Ministry Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. While all the ministries in the Faith Community are important and have their own special dignity, because of the centrality of the Holy Eucharistic in our life, the Eucharistic Ministry has a special place. In a deeper sense, these ministers are called from the community of those gathered to praise the Lord to “feed the Body of Christ to the Body of Christ.”

Eucharistic ministers are men and women of the parish who are trained, commissioned and entrusted with the duty of distributing the Holy Eucharist to fellow parishioners at Mass and/or to homebound parishioners. Eucharistic ministry to people in senior residences is offered each Sunday. Eucharist ministers are usually scheduled in 1 month blocks for Masses or homebound ministry on a 6 month block basis. Schedules and a full list of the EM are mailed to each Eucharistic Minister and each minister is expected to arrange his/her own replacement if conflicts in schedule arise. Mass at Ridgeview Le Sueur Nursing and Rehab Center is offered the first Friday of each month.
